Gift Giving Class

Life has slowed down a bit, thankfully, so I'm back to my blog ready to show you some of the projects we completed at the Gift Giving class in November.  Lots of fun, lots of chocolate!  I think the chocolate mousse was the favorite of many.  Mmm, wish I had some right now!

This first project includes a gift of chocolate. Just love this, it's a Becky Roberts design. The little tag pulls out, ready for your own personal touch.  It was a challenging project, but I tried to help by having all the pieces cut and scored, and I even cut the opening for the candy.  There was still a little confusion, but overall it went well.

This was really a fun project.  The Love Letter paper really looks great on this, especially with the Cherry Cobler seam binding (more colors of this coming in the new mini coming out in January).  I saw this on Andrea Walford's site.  She's a Canadian demonstrator that has some awesome ideas.  You can't tell in this picture, but we punched and die cut the flowers, then sprayed them lightly with a mist of water and crinkled them up.  We then layed them flat on a paper towel to dry.  It totally changed the texture of the paper and added a lot of dimension.  The 'Just A Note' was purchased through Andrea when I bought the calendar and notepads, which she had specially made to fit this CD tin.  I have one set of calendar, notepad and tin left for sale if you are interested.

Cute, cute, cute!  I found some pens at Staples that, I thought, were tiny enough to put inside, but they made the top bulge a bit, so everyone just slid them through the ribbon on the front.  Easy, handmade, a gift that many would enjoy having.

Is this not just awesome!  Not my idea, as usual, saw this somewhere last Christmas and kept the idea tucked away for this year.  These are the Vintage Ornaments 1 stencils from Stampin' UP!'s Definitely Decorative line.  We used Riding Hood Red, Garden Green and Marina Blue.  I had some stencil brushes in my stash, and by the time we all used them they were in pretty rough shape.  The second group, that came in the evening, used a sponge dauber on the black which really worked better, making the images more crisp.  These can be done in any color on Whisper White or Vanilla cardstock. Simply used a Stampin' Write Journaler to draw the lines from the ornament to the top of the picture.  I bought a frame at Michaels for around $12 (thanks to my 40% off coupon).  These would make excellent, low cost gifts that would impress whoever is on the receiving end.  The stencils (4) are only $14.95, and can be used over and over again.  Don't you love it!!!

This was also a very fun and easy project.  The base of this is a 5 x 7 galvanized flashing shingle.  You can get them at Menards, 10 for about $3.  Designer paper was glued to the front, corners were rounded with a Crop-A-Dial corner rounder, and the cute little flower was punched from the 5-Petal Flower punch and the Boho Blossoms punch.  Arranged them together then glued them to a round heavy-duty magnet.  Notice the tiny pearls on the top, love these tiny jewels.  Lastly we punched holes in the top with the Crop-A-Dial and tied on a ribbon.  This can hang on a door knob, or on any hook.  Kudos to Julie Taylor, a fellow stamper.

Thanks for looking!  My next posting will be in a few days and you'll be able to see the projects that we completed at our Christmas Stamp Camp.  Stay safe on those roads!
