When my children were young we lived in Battle Creek, in the area referred to as 'the Meadows'. My love for gardening began at that home. There were Peonies and Poppies that graciously lined the fence in the back yard. Although they seemed to need little care, they returned year after year in all their splendor. This card reminded me of those days on Ridgeway Drive where children played in the street and splashed in our backyard pool. I've purchased many poppy plants since then, but just haven't been very successful. One of these days I'll get it right and enjoy, again, those wispy, beautiful flowers.
The red used in this card is Poppy Parade. It's one of the 2010-2011 In Colors, which won't be around forever. I've enjoyed this orangish red, especially for flowers. This design comes from one of the gals in my swap group, Deb Snyder who lives in Goshen, IN. I always love her cards, she takes much care in her design and presentation. I changed it a little, but not much.
Here are the supplies I used for the Bookmark Card:
Stamp Set: Punch Bunch (this was one of the FREE Sale-A-Bration sets)
Paper: Poppy Parade, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Basic Black Cardstock
Ink: Wild Wasabi Classic Ink, Poppy Parade, Basic Black and Wild Wasabi Markers
Punches: 1-3/4" Scallop Circle, Word Window
Other Supplies: Big Shot, 2-1/2" Circle Die, Two Tags Die, Square Lattice and Framed Tulips Embossing Folders, 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Basic Black, Dimensionals
There are quite a few alternative sets in the catalog that you can use instead of the stamp from Punch Bunch. Like Party Hearty, Petal Pizazz, Printed Petals, Perfect Punches, and Circus Circus. There is a stamp in each of these sets that coordinates perfectly with the Scallop Circle punch.
Thank you for stopping by today!
