Splashes of Color

Last year, when I first decided I wanted to start my blog, my son came over and we took a look at the Blogger format.  Before we knew it, he asked me what I wanted to call my blog and the first thing that came out of my mouth was 'Carol's Creative Corner'.  Now honestly, I never really liked that, but it was a start.  Since that time I have given it a great deal of thought and decided to name my blog after my Stampin' UP! team name, which is Splashes of Color.  With hundreds and hundreds of Stampin' UP! teams out there, it was difficult to find something that wasn't already taken. Splashes of Color just kept coming back to my mind until I eventually made my decision.   When I think about splash, I think about how each of us make our own impact in life, big splash, little splash, and how that splash changes the world around us.  Depending upon the size of the rock you throw in a puddle, it could be a fun adventure or we could end up with mud on our face! So our splash in the world is just what we make it. Color is what pulls all this creative stuff together!  How drab a world we would live in if everything was black and white. Color is exciting!  Color can be calming or stimulating. It brings about oohs and aahs.  Every color is unique in it's own way, just like each of us are. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it! So don't be confused when you stop by my blog, it's still me!

Now that I've explained the change to my blog heading, I want to make you smile with this beautiful picture of my little patch of daffodils.

So, now let's take a look at today's cards.  I usually don't highlight stamp sets that have been discontinued, but I'm sure many of you grabbed up the Eat Chocolate set from the Occasions Mini.  Neither of these card ideas came entirely from my own head (sorry, I can't remember who the designers are).  The first one was a make and take we did at Alissa's workshop last week.  The second card was a project from the Mini-Stamp Camp last Thursday.  Hope you enjoy them!

Being addicted to chocolate (I've already had my fix for the day), I definitely could relate to these two cards.  Aren't they cute? Simple but cute!
