Back From Leadership

Home sweet home.  It's always good to come home to my honey and my pillow.  I'm feeling rather sleep deprived today, but my head is swimming with all the information that was shared at this year's Stampin' UP! Leadership Convention.  My first goal is to set down, go over all my notes and squeeze all that goodness into 3 areas of improvement that I will focus on in 2012.  It's always fun to come home with fresh ideas, and it certainly helped to have a new mini catalog at hand as well as the Sale-A-Bration promotion at our doorstep.

My flight got into San Antonio late morning on the 17th.  What a pleasant change of weather! After a quick but marvelous lunch at Boudro's (found out later that this Texas bistro is a 5 star restaurant), I met up with Joyce Feraco, Jan Shaw and a few other fellow demonstrators.  They were headed to lunch so I joined them and enjoyed some chips and guacamole.  We walked along Riverwalk and just took in all the sights and smells.  There must be 50 restaurants that line the river, it was amazing.  A short walk from Riverwalk was the Alamo.  I was bummed that I didn't have my camera with me, but was able to take some pictures on my smartphone.  By 6:00 I was ready to head back to my room at the Marriott and meet my 3 roommates.  After introductions, and sharing of gifts and swaps it was off to have dinner at Cafe Ole.

On Wednesday morning I was more then ready to head over to the convention center to pick up my bag and peruse The Gathering Place to mingle with other demonstrators, swap and take pictures of all the sample cards that were displayed.  It's really exciting to get a first look at our convention bag, and as usual it is adorable, and gave us a sneak peak at some of the new fabric that is coming with the new 2012-2013 big catalog.  I think I took about 200 pictures, just that first day.  At 2:00 I headed to the Make & Take area and found that we had 9 projects to complete!!!!  But since the theme of this year's convention was My Way, we were able to do what we wanted and save what was left to complete at home.  I only made it through 3 projects in the 2-1/2 hours that were allotted to us.  Once I complete them all I will be sure to share them with you.

So, that first day was rather stress free, and so much fun swapping, chatting and stamping.  Here is a picture of some of the swap cards I took with me.  I made more after I took this picture, but a total of about 85.

Stampin' UP! always has some wonderful displays to share with us.  Here are a few pictures that will certainly make you salivate for all the awesome new products in the Occasions Mini and FREE Sale-A-Bration selections.

It seems I'm getting blurry eyed waiting for these picture to download, so I think I'll leave you with these few and post more pictures and details of Day 2 tomorrow!
