On Wednesday I had the honor of hosting breakfast for my sister Judy, and good friend, Cheri. If you know me, you know I love to try out new recipes, so I decided to pull a breakfast together. Prep time took much longer then anticipated, but the results were delicious, and we had more then enough to eat.
My first experiment, or recipe, was an Apple Pancake. This recipe came from an old Penzy's catalog, and it had a very eggy texture, which I loved. My next recipe was cut from some magazine, who knows when. It was a delightful Scrambled Egg Turnover. Check out this presentation! These were absolutely beautiful! Inside this delicate puff pastry was scrambled eggs with a touch of oregano, shredded zucchini, a slice of tomato and a bit of shredded cheese. We all ate about half of the turnover and packaged up the rest.
After breakfast, and a relaxing time opening gifts, we proceeded down to my craft room where I had supplies ready for making the wonderful ornaments that don the front of the Stampin' UP! Holiday Catalog. I'm so glad I took advantage of the opportunity to grab one of these kits up when they were available. We had some crazy moments trying to make the center rosette, and finally decided it takes 3 hands to do it easily. One hand to hold it together, a second hand to keep the center from popping up, and a third hand to hit it with the glue gun. It was good to hear my sister's laughter. Here is my finished ornament hanging from my Christmas tree in the living room.
A good time with friends and family, after all, that's what it's all about. Thank you, Lord, for all you've blessed me with.
Merry Christmas to all!
