Faux Patina

Do you ever wonder about days that just seem to evaporate in thin air.  That is my Monday and Tuesday of this week.  I can pretty much account for my time, but both days seemed to move at break neck speeds.  It's probably like that for everyone around the holidays.  Trying to think of everything that needs to be done, and staring at the calendar wondering where you'll fit it all in.  I always think I'm way ahead of myself, but then I fill in every little minute with, yet more, things to do.  I'm actually relaxing this afternoon, catching up on some knitting, and thinking about my first class of 2013.  I'm thinking that a cup of hot tea will help soothe my busy mind.

Today's project is one that I found online and modified.  Unfortunately I didn't write down the persons name that came up with these cute ornaments.  She referred to this technique as Faux Patina.  First I embossed a piece of Whisper White cardstock with an embossing folder, then I sponged on Sahara Sand ink, then Tempting Turquoise ink, and lastly Soft Suede.  Next I dabbed on a bit of Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Pewter Embossing Powder.  From this piece of finished cardstock I cut out two different ornaments with the Holiday Ornament Framelits.

It was a fun technique, and every one's ornaments turned out differently.

Other supplies used;  Champagne Glimmer Paper, Large Scallop Edgelit, 3-1/2" Scalloped Tulle Ribbon in Crumb Cake, Whisper White and Sahara Sand cardstock, Sahara Sand Marker and the Greetings of the Season stamp Set.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I'm up to!
