This morning I just couldn't resist getting bundled up and heading outside with my camera for a snowy photo shoot. It was still pretty cloudy, and the wind was quite brisk, but I ventured outside to capture some pictures of this beautiful Michigan winter.
Initially I walked out to the road to drop something in the mailbox and couldn't resist this shot of the angry clouds mixed with just a tad of blue sky.
A shot of our home nestled under a blanket of snow.
A touch of winter art in my front garden.
Off to the woods.
Fence rows are always interesting photo ops.
Was hoping to catch sight of a few deer, as there were footprints leading everywhere! Obviously they were resting after a full night of playing in the fresh snow.
I've taken a lot of pictures of this very spot. With each change of season it remains beautiful.
The truth is, I didn't make it back too far. Our property is 1/2 mile deep, and I only made it about three quarters of the way, the snow was pretty deep to walk in. Since I'd forgotten my cell phone, and I'm not a youngster anymore, I trudged back to our little house in the country.
A Junco, resting in a maple tree.
Look at the tummy on this Red-Bellied Woodpecker, I think we must be feeding them well.
I wish I knew what this bird was. Haven't seen him around before.
So, that was my exciting morning photo shoot. I certainly didn't stay out more than about a half hour, I'm just not much for being outdoors in the winter. But I did want to take a peek at all the fresh snow and share the pictures with family and friends. I hope you enjoyed them.
Thanks for stopping by today!
