Girls and Their Horses

Tonight as I was showing my husband pictures of my grand daughter, Abbie, with Molly's horse, Never, he commented that all girls like horses.  I'm not sure if that's true or not, but I've always loved horses.  Just being around them is so comforting.  My trips to the county fair always lead me into the horse barns.  Those big brown eyes just melt my heart.  This year when we were at the UP State Fair we saw some exquisite animals, and I wished that I'd had my camera with me.  I do have some great photos that I've taken, and I'll share a couple of them after the pictures of Abbie's riding lesson.

Abbie is getting Never ready for their lesson.

Riding saddle on.

Riding helmet on.

This is South.  I wondered what he was thinking at this moment.

After stretching, Never was ready to ride.  Abbie has perfect form here.  Abbie did well throughout the whole lesson, but Never had a few naughty moments.

Such a pretty horse.

Abbie giving kisses to Never after their ride.

After every ride she cleans out his hooves.

Time for a little grain before a quick bath.

A good spray down, then a dab of soap.

Scrub a dub dub.  After his bath, Abbie said her goodbyes and we were off!  What a delightful afternoon!

I took this picture last fall.  Two of the Abraham's horses in Yuma (Michigan).

Cool marking on this one.

Horses are social beings!  These are huge horses, belonging to the Abrahams.

This picture was one that my hubby saw and sent it to me.  I love it.

I hope you enjoyed my post today!  Are you a girl that loves horses??
