Many of you have heard the story concerning my first heat embossing experience. It was in 1998. I'd just fallen in love with stamping and wanted to take my passion to the next level with heat embossing. Sure, Stampin' UP! sold a heat gun at that time, but I decided, having heard of the other various ways to heat up the embossing powder, that I would try the "toaster technique". When I think about this, I realize how ridiculous it is. Paper in a toaster? Needless to say, when the paper started smoking I knew it was time to spring for a heat gun. I still love the look of heat embossing. It makes a ho-hum card look striking!
Gold embossing on the balloons ads texture and pizazz! The greeting was stamped on Vellum and head embossed with gold.
The variation in the colors on these balloons was accomplished by stamping first with a lighter solid color, then a contrasting color was sponged onto one side of the stamp. A simple, yet effective technique!
The Celebrate Today Stamp Set is available only in photopolymer making it very affordable at $25.95 for 17 stamps! Buy it today, just click HERE
