A Perfect Day Off!

It's not often that I take a full day away from my business to just goof off.  But yesterday I went up to Grand Rapids and spent the day with my daughter, Kathy.  It was a marvelous day.  We spent some time browsing in a couple special shops in Rockford.  At one of the shops called Right At Home she bought me an early Mother's Day gift.  A great little bag by Baggalini that will be perfect for my trip to Florida.  Next stop was lunch at Red's on the River.  We had a great table overlooking the Rogue River. The food was superb. The weather was just perfect, sunshine, cool, but not much of a breeze that could have chilled us to the bone.  After lunch we drove into GR and went to the Grand Rapids Public Museum to see the Bodies Revealed exhibit.  That was pretty impressive.  I think the most significant thing we learned is what cancer and other diseases do to the organs, it was quite a learning experience.  After that we were off to find Common Grounds Coffee Shop where we enjoyed some wonderful coffee. I chose a mocha that had Mexican chocolate in it which added a spicy kick. I was ready for something sweet by this time, but Kathy told me that I'd have to wait until our next stop.  Hmmm.  Back in the car and off to this cute little cupcake shop that had only opened a short time ago. Everything looked too yummy. I picked Tiramisu and Almond, and not surprisingly, Kathy chose the same two. We are too much alike!  As Kathy loaded these little goodies in the back seat, I'm thinkin' 'I want to eat them now!!!'  But we had another stop to make before we headed home.  Last stop was at a cute little deli where Kathy picked up a few things for dinner and I snatched up a loaf of Sourdough bread that was baked earlier in the day at Stone House Bread in Traverse City.  Good, good stuff.  After a quick stop at her boyfriend's house for hugs and goodbyes I was off.  These special days mean so much to me.

So, I'm back in the saddle today, and ready to share another card.  Most cards look like cards.  But this card, as I sat it on my 'photographic table', it just looked like it needed to be framed and kept right there.  My plan is to do just that.  Although the colors are fall like, I was inspired by all the robins I see in the yard, patiently waiting for the ground to thaw so they can enjoy their next meal.  The idea came from a card that I saw online.  I hope you like it!!!
