2-4-6-8 Box

Recently I held a workshop at my home for my friend Lisa.  She invited a few of her friends and some of their daughters to a fun evening out.  This 2-4-6-8 box was one of the make and takes that evening.  It's really quite simple.  The most important thing to remember is not to score too heavily on the designer paper. Although Stampin' UP!'s paper is thicker then you find in the big box stores it isn't as durable as the cardstock.  I should have brought out my Scor-Pal as it is much more gentle on lighter weight paper then the traditional Fiskar scoring blade.  Learning every day!

Here's how I made this 2-4-6-8 box:

Cut your designer paper to 8-1/2 x 11.  Score lengthwise at 2, 4, 6 and 8".  Score the 8-1/2" side just once, at 2".  This will leave a small piece in one corner that is 2" x 1/2", cut this away.  Now cut up 2" on each of the score lines to that one 2" score line that you made.  These are your flaps for the bottom of the box.

Now you just assemble the box using sticky strip and you are ready to embellish it! The top is just pinched together like the top of a milk carton.  I used Lap of Luxury Designer Paper and Blushing Bride Poly Ribbon.  The Easter Wishes stamp is from Easter Blossoms (I told you I used this set a lot!).  The tiny little clip on the top is one of Stampin' UP!'s Mini Library Clips. They are the cutest darn things!

Wouldn't this be a great gift filled with Easter candy!!!  And so, so simple to make.

Thanks for stopping by today, actually if you are reading this I'm so surprised you're inside and not outside enjoying this gorgeous day.  I've been in the basement all afternoon preparing for my Stamp Camp this Saturday.  All done now, maybe I can play outside tomorrow!
