On the Grow

Summer is winding down, and so is the opportunity to purchase merchandise from the Summer Mini Catalog.  The Holiday Mini hasn't been mailed to customers yet, but I've seen it and there are so many exciting new products coming our way.  But in the meantime, there are sets like this one that will be gone forever on September 1st.

I love to watercolor.  My goal is to take a class in the fall at the local art center to learn more about watercolor technique.  I've painted in oils and acrylics, but haven't done too much with watercolors. Last weekend I went to an art fair at Harbor Bay and there was a watercolor artist there that really inspired me.  I have lots of books on the subject, and lots of paints and brushes, so I'm ripe for the experience!

Today's card shows some unknown flowers in a ball jar vase.  I have phlox in my garden that is this exact color, but the phlox petals are much smaller then these are. What do you suppose they are???

Here are the fabulous Stampin' UP! products that I used:

Stamp Sets:  On the Grow, Petite Pairs

Paper:  Very Vanilla and Rich Razzleberry Cardstock, Pocketful of Posies Designer Series Paper, and Watercolor Paper.
Stampin' UP! watercolor paper is some of the best out there!  100% cotton, cold-pressed  140 lb., it comes in a new size; 6" x 9"   Cold-press has a wonderful textured surface, good to work on, and I strongly recommend this when you watercolor.

Ink:  Stazon Black, Rich Razzleberry Classic, and Stampin' UP! Watercolor Crayons

Other Supplies:  Aqua Pen,  3/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Rich Razzleberry (retired), Big Shot, Perfect Dots Embossing Folder, Linen Thread, 1/16", 3/4" and 1" Circle Punches
