Best Friends Forever

It seems I have no tolerance at all for computer problems.  I suddenly started having problems with my monitor coming on in a timely manner, so thinking it was a monitor problem I bought a new one and couldn't get the new one to work at all.  Keep in mind that I'm not very smart about such things, and I probably was just not doing something right.  Long story short, I couldn't get my old monitor to come on at all after I hooked it back up, so I just kissed my computer goodnight and waited for a time when my son (who was out of town attending a conference all week), to come rescue me.  We're still working on resolving the problems, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, I just haven't rounded the bend to see it yet.  So that, coupled with a 3 day trip up north, is why I haven't posted in 9 days!

Right now I'm in-between classes.  The afternoon class went well, we are making cards from the Everyday Elegance Simply Sent Kit.  Everyone just zipped through the six cards.  But I thought I'd take a break, before I set up for the 6:00 class, and share a card with you.

I got this idea from Michelle Zindorf.  She is an amazing artist, using color in amazing ways.  Her brayered cards are absolutely beautiful, and I would love to have the opportunity to attend one of her workshops to learn her technique.  This card is sponged, not brayered, but I love the layering of color.  First with More Mustard, then with Soft Suede, then lastly with Early Espresso.  Initially I stamped the leaf pattern with Versamark on River Rock cardstock, then embossed with clear. Then I started sponging, starting with the lightest color first, ending with just a touch of the darkest color.  The butterfly is done the same way, except I sponged Cherry Cobbler over the entire surface.  This was a fun technique to learn and to teach.  The stamp I used is from Best Friends Forever, I just love this set and will be sad to see it retire at the end of the month.

So, if nothing else goes wrong with my computer, I should be able to post again tomorrow and show you one of the cards we're doing today.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Check out your video card. It could be loose or going bad. Check all connections to make sure they are not loose.
