On June 22nd, my step-daughter Sara turned 29. We were fortunate to be able to celebrate our birthdays together in South Haven at her Aunt Vicki's house on Sunday. Her house overlooks Lake Michigan, and we so enjoyed going down to the shoreline (and I say down because it's quite a drop down to the lake) to peruse for rocks. That is probably my most relaxing pass time. Here is a picture of Paul and Sara.
With all of our pockets stuffed with rocks, and our tummys full from a very yummy meal prepared by Vicki (which included 3 pies and an ice cream cake from DQ) we headed home a bit after 9 p.m.
Here is the box I made for Sara's gift, which was an amazing turquoise bracelet we found in Estes Park, CO. And of coarse a check was also tucked inside to complete the gift. The front element was made using the Patterned Party stamp set. So cute!
These boxes are so fun to make, we'll be making one at my next stamping event on Tuesday.
Check out these beautiful hydrangeas that were in Vicki's yard! Aren't they absolutely gorgeous!
Although birthdays remind us that we are getting older day by day, they're still fun to celebrate. I've come to a point in my life where I'm comfortable with my 'stuff', and really don't lack anything. God has richly blessed my life and for that I am so thankful. So, with that said, I had no idea what my husband had up his sleeve for my birthday this year. I arrived home on Wednesday night, after celebrating my friend Kristi's birthday as well as my own to find something very odd in my garage. Here is what I found!
Now I say odd because, for one thing, I don't golf and I have no intentions on golfing, and we don't live in Florida where the golf cart is the #1 means of transportation. There was, however, a big sign hanging from the canopy that said "CAN I BE YOUR GARDEN HELPER?' Well, that somewhat explained it, but I was still quite skeptical. With some explanation on my husbands part I began to see exactly how wonderful this little 'garden helper' was going to be. He will be building a dump box on the back so it will have many uses! The day after I got it I spent the day moving bags of mulch. The usual routine is, walk down the hill and get the wheel barrow, load 2 bags of mulch, push it up the hill. Then of coarse, back down the hill for more bags. This process may be good exercise, but I am getting older, and my husband isn't always here to move them for me. What a fun morning I had moving mulch!!!!! Zipping down the hill with my hair blowing in the breeze! What a hoot!!!!!!!
Here's what my daughter would say:
"Do you smell that???? Something (or someone) is spoiled!"
Who, me???
