Wow! I didn't realize that I hadn't posted since last Monday. What a whirlwind week I had preparing for, then holding my really, really big garage sale. I had at least 30 people show up on Thursday for the Customer Preview Event. Although it was a very hot evening, everyone happily shopped and seemed to enjoy the experience. Friday was a huge day for our sale. I stopped counting the cars that lined our long driveway, it was amazing. 18 tables were set up and everything was arranged by category. We even had a fun little corner, our 'boutique', with a dressing area upstairs where folks could try things on. Not a lot of clothes, our specialty is always craft items. This year though, with my daughter getting married, and merging two households, there was a lot of household items. The tools were a new addition this year. I was fortunate to acquire a number of items that I knew would draw the men in, and they certainly did. Saturday was only fair, and Sunday was a trial to see just how many people were out and about looking for garage sales. From 1-3:45 we only had 3 people and sales of $4, so we closed down for the year. No more Sundays. So that's just a little view into last week, and why I neglected to post. Now I need to get back into my craft room and make more cards!!!!
Today's card is the next to the last from the Happy Hour set. As summer winds down, our thoughts are on back to school, and fall. The colors in this card certainly remind me that fall is just around the corner. I used the new Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Paper from the Holiday Catalog
The More Mustard piece behind the glasses, resembling a tray, is from the Apothecary Accents Framelits die set.
The punch holes bordering the tray were made using the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack. These templates are awesome! Piercing adds even more interest to your treasured creation. The pack comes with 3 templates and they coordinate with punches, Edgelits, and Framelits. Stampin' UP! also sells the Paper-Piercing Tool as well as the Pierce Mat. And all are very reasonably priced!
The Basic Black zig-zag element was made with the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL die.
What a fun set, and if you're still not convinced that you need this set, I'll be posting one last sample that I know will push you over the edge!
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you missed me!
And a special thanks to my sister, Judy and daughter, Kathy for all your long hours helping make our 7th Annual Crafter's Garage Sale such a great success! Oh yes, and to my niece, Christine who brought some awesome items to sell! It was fun having you join us!
