What can you capture in a jar? As a child I would stay out for what seemed like hours catching lightening bugs, and yes, putting them in a canning jar. My mom always canned tomatoes and mild hot peppers, so the jars were plentiful. It was always a summer treat to stay up past dark and fill my jar with those amazing little flashing creatures. Dad would poke holes in the lid and I would sit on the porch swing with my treasures until I couldn't stay awake any longer.
There aren't any bugs in the Perfectly Preserved set, but you can use stamps from other sets. For Halloween you can use bats or little pumpkins. The Spooky Bingo Bits set has lots of images to choose from. Then for Christmas you can use images from Jolly Bingo Bits. How about a jar full of candy canes, or gingerbread men? Oh, there's so many fun things you can do with this jar!
Today I have a jar full of flowers, tipped slightly so the flowers tumble out. As I am looking at this today, and reminiscing about my childhood, I seem to remember keeping marbles and jacks in Mason jars. That's a fun memory!
The flowers are done in Cajun Craze, Elegant Eggplant and More Mustard.
The flowers are adorned with sweet little pearls.
The words are from Petite Pairs. The background stripes were made with the Stripes Embossing Folder.
Thank you for letting me share today, and thank you for visiting my blog!
