September's Fav of the Month

September.  Can it really be September?  As I walk around my garden it looks more like mid-August, except for the blooming of some bearded iris, those babies bloom in the spring.  I suppose they're just confused.  Everything was confused this year with the extreme heat in June, and the drought that seemed to last forever.  I am welcoming the cooler weather with open arms.

With September comes a new Fav of the Month!  I've chosen Perfectly PreservedThe one set that I resisted buying until I just couldn't stand it anymore.  For years I've had a particular set on my shelf called All Wrapped Up.  That set also had a jar, and I just couldn't bring myself to part with it until this year . . it went into my garage sale.  I think that Perfectly Preserved is especially fun to play with because of the Cannery Set Framelits Dies that coordinate with it.  It's nice not having to cut all those pieces out!  It reminds me a little of playing with paper dolls as a child.

My first sample using this set was made last Thursday while enjoying a crafting day with my grand daughter, Abbie.  She is a crafting maniac just like her Gi Gi.  We started at 10:00 in the morning, and other then taking a break for lunch we crafted until 5:00.  We both made this card, although I didn't get a picture of hers, but in a minute I'll show you the other treasures she made that day.

It's hard to see, but the jar was stamped with Stazon onto a window sheet.  The window sheet was then layered between the cardstock and designer paper.  The pears are actually on the inside of the card.  Also, the pears are sitting much further down, on the bottom of the jar, when the card is completely closed.

The greeting is from Sassy Salutations.  A funky set that works well here.

Below is a snapshot of page 29 in the Holiday Catalog, here you can see all the fun stamps that come with this set.

The images above that have an outline (like the jar, for instance), have coordinating framelit dies, the 'thank you' stamp coordinates with the small oval puch.

As I was telling you, this was a crafting day with Abbie.  She had an idea to make pumpkins out of rosettes made with the rosette die.  I think we worked two hours trying to manipulate the rosettes so that they formed a cone.  She finally gave up and just decided to decorate the rosettes, which you'll see below.

Didn't she do an awesome job!!!!!  She also made her mask, the eyes are cut out using the retired bat punch.  She used that same punch to make the yellow bats on the top of the mask.  What a fun day!

Thanks for stopping by!
