Last Friday I played "hooky" and took a bus trip to the Midwest Stitches Expo in Schaumburg. The bus trip was hosted by our local yarn shop in Battle Creek which is cleverly named Your Local Yarn Shop. As soon as we picked up Kelly J at the park & ride in Kalamazoo the fun began! Kelly is a hoot, and her enthusiasm for knitting and laughing is contagious. A great day with friends touching beautiful, wonderful yarns, what could be better.
After lunch, my friend Cheri and I spotted a coffee shop in the hotel. Well, I'm a sucker for a good mocha, so we waited in a short line until we could order. I cheerfully placed my order, "I'll have a mocha decaf with skim milk and no whip cream". Cheri said "I'll have the same". And then the woman behind her said "I'll have the same". I had already told Cheri I'd buy her coffee, and although I didn't know the young lady behind us, I told the gal at the register that I'd buy hers too. Of course the woman in line is spouting off, 'no, no, no!' I said 'oh yes I am'. The gal at the register gets a big smile on her face and said 'Well I'm going to buy yours!'. Today I'm thinking about how contagious kindness is. That's a good thing, and we should do kind things more often, at least I know I should.
My card today reminded me of this little life event, that's why I decided to share that story.
The Perfect Blend stamp set was one that I knew I had to have, and one that I'll hang onto for a long time. The words are from Yipee-Skippee!, a free set we received at convention. After embossing with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder, I used the spritzer tool with a combination of Early Espresso refill ink and alcohol.
All the components of the cup were stamped with Early Espresso ink and then cut out by hand. I used Venetian Romance DSP, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake card stock.
Just a hint of Pistachio Pudding ruffled ribbon, love this stuff.
Fun card! Thanks for stopping by!
