These last few days have certainly felt like fall. It always seems odd turning on the heat that very first time, when often a week before the air conditioner was on. Yesterday, I spent the afternoon at one of my favorite places on earth, Southern Exposure. If you're not in the mood for fall, all you need to do is stop by there. Everything looks and smells like fall. Pumpkins and gourds adorning every nook and cranny. It was a wonderful afternoon enjoying Chef Elsie's marvelous cuisine and learning more about my favorite herb, rosemary. We learned the history of rosemary, about trimming and overwintering. The wonderful scent of rosemary filled every room we were in. Hopefully the 2 year old rosemary tree I brought home will not die. Who knew I could keep it outside until the temperature gets down as low as 20 degrees. Then it should be in a protected but cool area, like the garage, but close to a window. I see a new shelf in my near future. A hardy but temperamental herb.
The point is, my visit to Southern Exposure encouraged me to pull out some of my fall deco and also work on my Halloween banner. Today I spent the cool afternoon in my craft room playing with all the fun pieces and parts of the banner accessory kit. When it was finished I hung it up on my fireplace. Isn't it cute!
I'll be holding a class for this banner on October 2nd. Two sessions are available, 2-4 and 6-8. You should be able to complete your banner in the time allotted.
Attendees will receive the Halloween Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit, plus 6 blank canvas paper pennants and enough jute twine to hang it.
I really enjoyed customizing my banner. There are 3 different background designs included in the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit. I sponged the stencils with Summer Starfruit, Pumpkin Pie and Smoky Slate. You receive all the letters of the alphabet in this kit so you can make banners that say anything that you'd like!
Interested in coming to the class, just email me HERE
Last day to sign up is Wednesday, September 18th.
Don't tell anyone, but I don't think it's spooky at all, I just think it's stinkin' cute!
Thanks for stopping by!
