ArtPrize 2013

Lucky me, I was able to spend a couple days at ArtPrize in Grand Rapids last week.  I was a bit intimidated by the idea of it, with over 1500 entries at more then 169 venues.  The task seemed daunting to me.  Thank heavens my daughter, Kathy, encouraged me to join the thousands of other art lovers for a couple days.  Fantastic weather prevailed as we walked along the streets of downtown GR.  Here are some of my favorite entries.  I believe that these first two are actually in the top 10.

These polar bears were amazing.  My first pick.

This is only a portion of the piece.  It was completely done in fabric.  An absolutely beautiful work of art.

Just plain cute.  This panda bear was made out of pieces of rubber tires.

This was a fun piece.  There was a wheel that you could turn to see a number of different parts move.

These were dogs carved out of rock.  That is, the larger figures in the back. :)

On Wednesday while working outside I created my own piece of art.  Can anyone tell me what this is, and what medium I used to create it?

Thanks for stopping by today!
