Merry Little Christmas Class #1

The weather report for today, Monday, November 11th is a report of cold temperatures across the eastern half of the United States.  When they mention a cold front coming out of Canada, you know that there is a possibility of plummeting temperatures.  At the moment it's 43 degrees, but that will be today's high.  I'm looking out at my snapdragons right now, thinking that it may be the last time those little blossoms will be seen.  They don't take well to temps in the 20's and that's what we're looking at over the next couple of days.  I still have much cleaning up to do before the heavy snow flies, but if I don't, it will just add that much more winter interest to my gardens.  The vegetable garden is at rest, the fence is down and only a few root vegetables are left.  The holidays are on their way!

Today's project is one of the projects from last week's Merry Little Christmas Class.  We made 8 cards, 2 each of 4 designs.  The Merry Little Christmas Kit gives us directions for one basic card, and supplies to make 8 cards.  I tried to make our class a bit more fun and interesting by changing things up a bit as you'll see!

The red polka dot designer paper came in the kit as envelope liners.  I decided to use one of the liners to change the looks of this design.  You'll also see that I've added a strip of scalloped silver glitter paper that I made using the Adorning Accents Edgelits.

Instead of using the tags that were included in the kit, we stamped in Cherry Cobbler onto Whisper White card stock, then made a tag with the Chalk Talk framelits.  'Merry' was stamped with the Silver Encore pad,  hand cut and popped up with a dimensional.

The kit included 8 little red buttons and 8 pieces of baker's twine, and we used these on each card.

Color combination; Real Red, Garden Green, Coastal Cabana and Whisper White.  Since I didn't have 3 Real Red pads for the stations that needed them, we improvised with Cherry Cobbler on this one.  It seemed to work just fine!

Thanks for visiting today!
