My husband often asks me 'what are you knitting now?'. That question is often followed by 'who is it for?'. Often times I just knit to knit, other times I know right from the start who I will share my journey with. That is the case with the shawl I'm going to show you today. The name of the pattern is Mara and it was made with 220 Superwash by Cascade Yarns. The color is Summer Sky Heather.
With straight knitting, purling and the occasional yarn over it was an enjoyable project that didn't require any inappropriate language.
Here it is on the blocking table.
The color looks very light here, it really isn't. Must have been all the florescent lights in my basement.
I no more than got it off the blocking table and I was out the door headed to see my friend Darlene to surprise her with it.
She is in a nursing home and volunteers at their gift store. That is where I found her on the day I delivered her shawl.
The color looks a bit truer in this picture. She was not only surprised but quite shocked that I had knit it for her. I told her that she knits for other people (she loves making hats), and it was time that someone knit something for her! She said 'I'll wear it every day!'. Love her!
Thanks for visiting today!
